Unger 989830 window squeegee: choose blade width and pole fit
Check pane width, reachable working area and exact pole compatibility before buying Unger's 12-inch household squeegee.

What to compare ↓
Direct answer
Consider model 989830 for accessible household glass when a 12-inch blade suits the pane. Skip it for narrow divided panes that leave little room to move, or if buying it depends on an unverified fit with a pole you own. A wider blade is only useful when you can guide it across the actual working area.
Verified product identity
Unger lists a 12-inch squeegee, model 989830, with a cushioned grip, handheld use and pole attachment. It belongs to the Unger Locking System. The reviewed page does not establish that arbitrary threaded or friction-fit poles are compatible. Manufacturer claims about streak-free results were not independently tested here.
Measure the glass between obstructions
Measure the narrowest pane you intend to clean, excluding the frame. Check handles, bars and the space near corners. Sketch a practical wiping path before buying. The 12-inch width is approximately 30.5 cm; a pane barely wider than that may still leave little maneuvering room. Prioritize control over the number of passes suggested by blade width alone.
Check the whole cleaning setup
A squeegee purchase should include a plan for washing the surface first and catching runoff below it. If you need a pole, get explicit confirmation of the pole model and attachment before ordering. Assess reach from a stable position on the ground; do not turn a product purchase into a plan to lean out of a window. Inaccessible exterior panes may call for a professional service.
US and Israel checks
The evidence comes from Unger's US consumer site, not a verified retail offer. US shoppers should match 989830 and confirm what accessories are included. Israeli shoppers should distinguish this consumer model from similarly named professional tools and confirm the local connector. No Israeli distribution, destination delivery or replacement-blade supply was verified.
Compare by how you will use it
| Your use | What to check before buying |
|---|---|
| Wide versus narrow blade | Compare against the smallest pane you clean regularly. A smaller tool can be a more practical choice when frames and handles repeatedly interrupt the path. |
| Handheld versus pole use | Handheld use makes sense for reachable panes. Pole use adds a compatibility and control question; do not buy on brand matching alone. |
Buying in the United States
Set your delivery ZIP code before comparing offers. Check shipping charges, taxes shown at checkout, the return window and whether a third-party seller handles fulfilment. A US retailer listing does not establish availability at your address.
